Hosting: More than just a plug in the wall.

Whether you need a dedicated server, co-locate your own server, or shared website hosting, 2RAD can handle your Internet connectivity needs. 2RAD's state-of-the-art, fully redundant Network Operations Center lets you outsource your Internet needs with confidence.

Not Just Another Plug in the Wall

2RAD Provides its Own Hosting -- On-Site

Other companies say they provide hosting, but they are really just re-packaging a different company's services. All of 2RAD's hosting services are done on-site, and monitored 24/7 by 2RAD employees.

In-House Technical Support

2RAD does not outsource its telephone service or Internet services to third parties. When you call 2RAD you are speaking to someone who has physical access to your server. Unlike other ISPs, 2RAD's technicians also have the expertise to help you at the application level.

Website not working? We can fix it with whether it's a hardware, software, or configuration problem.

2RAD Network Operations Center

2RAD's network is continuously monitored, physically secured, and fully redundant. In addition, 2RAD maintains multiple high-speed connections to the Internet through a variety of Tier 1 bandwidth providers, so you know that your website is up around the clock. Technical support is available every day of the year, 24/7. 2RAD's dedication to keeping your server continuously running is unsurpassed in the industry.
Which should I choose: Shared Hosting or a Dedicated Server?

Shared Hosting Pros:
  • Most Economical for Single Low-Traffic Sites (Low Cost).
  • Comes with More Pre-loaded Software at Little to No Additional Fees.
  • Website is stored on High-Availability Redundant Servers.
Shared Hosting Cons:
  • Adding Websites Incurs Additional Costs per Website.
  • Other Customers on the Server May Impact the Performance of Your Website.
  • You may have Limitations to the type of Software that may be Installed.
Dedicated Server Pros:
  • No Additional Cost for Adding Websites.
  • You have Complete and Sole Control Over Your Website(s) and Server.
  • No Limitations as to the type or quantity of Software You Install.
  • You may use as Many Resources as You Require (Disk Space, Processes, etc.).
  • Services Other than Websites are Permitted.
Dedicated Server Cons:
  • Increased Cost.
  • Redundancy Increases Cost Dramatically.
  • Licenses to Software May have to be Purchased Separately.

Summary: Shared hosting is the most economical, but your resources are shared with others on the same server. A dedicated server provides you with absolute control over the machine, and other customers' traffic will not effect the performance of your dedicated server. Dedicated servers may cost more, but the added capabilities may more than compensate for the small price increase.

Should I Lease a Server or Co-locate My Own?

Leased Server Pros:
  • Hardware repairs and maintenence are the responsibility of the ISP.
  • An ISP may keep spare replacement or substitution equipment ready.
  • ISP may have more familiarity with the hardware.
  • Fees are expenses for businesses or organizations.
Leased Server Cons:
  • You may be limited by the hardware selection the ISP provides.
  • May cost more than providing your own server.
  • You may already have existing hardware that could be used.
Co-located Server Pros:
  • You can provide the exact hardware your application requires.
  • Cost may be lower than leasing equipment.
  • You may already have existing hardware that can be used.
Dedicated Server Cons:
  • Hardware failure is your responsibility, and repairs could take days instead of hours.
  • ISP may have difficulty accommodating your hardware into their data center.
  • ISP may not be familiar with your hardware configuration.
  • Your hardware may be considered an asset and may impose additional taxes to your business or organization.
  • You will have to pay to ship the server to and from the ISP.

Summary: Because of the worry-free nature, most consumers choose a leased server. While the initial idea of saving money may seem attractive, the over-all cost for a co-located server is usually higher when shipping, service, and upgrades are considered. If your requirements are very specialized, co-location may be the right solution for you.
